Residence Seized

    Cisco Police in cooperation with Eastland County DA's Office

On January 7th, 2005, Officers from the Cisco Police department executed a search warrant on a residence at 108 West 10th in Cisco that resulted in the arrest of several subjects for Manufacturing of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine, Marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm. The Cisco Police Department working cooperatively with the Eastland County District Attorney's Office filed a petition seeking a forfeiture of the residence. The property was subsequently awarded to the Cisco Police Department under Chapter 59 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, an act that provides for the seizure and forfeiture of property used in the commission of a felony involving illegal drugs.
District Attorney Russ Thomason and Cisco Police Chief Larry Weikel issued a joint statement "We will use every tool available to us in the war against drugs in our community. Taking a drug dealer's assets through the courts is something we will not hesitate to do."

Burglar Caught

On Thursday evening, May 20th, 2004 Officers from the Cisco Police Department apprehended a suspect in the recent car burglaries that have been occurring around town. Sgt. Jason Weger led the two-month-old investigation with help from officers, citizens, and witnesses. Officer Ronnie Allman and Officer Adam Davis went to a residence searching for the suspect where he was located hiding in a closet. The suspect was then transported to the Cisco Police Department. Sgt. Weger interviewed the suspect and a confession was given. It is believed that the suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, is responsible for over 30 car burglaries that have occurred over the last two months. He was detained in the Taylor County Juvenile Detention Center.

Man Arrested on Drug Charges

       On August 2nd, 2002 Agents from the DEA at DFW airport intercepted three packages of marijuana. One of which was addressed to a residence in Cisco. Agents transported the package from D.F.W. to the Cisco Police department where it was released to Cisco officers. Subsequently agents from the West Central Inter-local Crime Task Force along with officers from the Cisco Police Department made a controlled delivery to 809 West 7th, , Cisco, Texas. A search warrant was executed on the residence at the time the package was delivered. On that date, warrants were also ran in Houston and Tennessee where the other two packages went. After a 6 month long investigation, numerous arrests were made in McAllen, Houston, and other states. On March 24st, 2003 District Attorney Russ Thomason presented the case to the Grand Jury. On March 24th, 2003 a grand jury indictment was handed down for Ascencion Robledo for possession of marijuana. Mr. Robledo was arrested in Cisco for possession of marijuana over 5 lbs but under 50 lbs. He was placed in Eastland County Jail.

Four Arrested in Drug Lab

       On March 16th, 2003, Officers from the Cisco Police Department located what they believe to be a “Nazi” style Meth lab in the 500 block of West 8th. Consent to search the residence led to the confiscation of items used to manufacture illegal drugs and over 4 grams of meth.
        The Police Department would like to thank Officer Ronnie Allman, Officer Heath Oakley, Sgt. Jason Weger, Chief Larry Weikel, Deputy Lanny Boone, Deputy Doyle Seabourn, and Eastland Officer Cathy Boone for their assistance.
        One male 21, two females 41 and 19 of Cisco were arrested and charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance. Their bonds were set at $25,000. One male, 39 of Cisco, was also arrested and charged with Manufacturing a controlled substance and Possession of a controlled substance over 4 grams. His bonds totaled $50,000. All four were detained at the Eastland County Jail.

Two Arrested in Search Warrant

       On Friday, January 17th, 2003, Cisco Police Department and Eastland County Sheriff’s Department Officers went to serve a Felony warrant at 207 Tourist Street in Cisco, Texas. The suspect would not answer the door. The house was entered and the suspect was arrested. While inside the residence, the officers saw what they believed to be marijuana. The West Central Inter-local Crime Task Force was called to assist. A Search warrant was obtained for the residence, vehicles, and other houses involved with the suspect. Several ounces of suspected marijuana, several ounces of suspected Cocaine, and several grams of suspected crack cocaine cookies were found during the search. Several firearms and other items were seized including a little over $3000.00 in cash.
       There were four officers from Cisco Police Department, three Deputies from Eastland County Sheriff’s Department,four Troopers from Texas DPS, and two agents from the Task Force that assisted in executing the search warrant.
       The suspect, 24 of Cisco, was arrested and charged with Tampering with a witness, Possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana. Bond was set at a total of $402,000. Another male, 19 of Cisco, was also arrested and charged with Possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $2000.00. Both were detained at the Eastland County Jail.
